David Emmett Alban, age 92, passed away in his sleep at his residence in Ormond Beach, FL on Friday, August 11, 2017. Born, July 16, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio, the second of two children, he was a graduate of South High School and a World War II Veteran. David married Julia Marie Gleich in 1945 and was a loving and devoted husband and father. He retired from the U.S. Post Office and then moved from Columbus, Ohio to Ormond Beach, FL. Survived by children and spouses, David (Pat) Alban of Fleming Island, FL, Linda (Richard) Whited of Round O, SC, Thomas Alban of Reynoldsburg, OH, Janet (Paul) Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Kathryn (Aaron) Royster of Columbus, OH, Nancy (Steve) Greene of Cumming, GA, and Molly (David) Wiegand of Ormond Beach, FL; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. David's family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, from 10 a.m.-12 noon, COTNER FUNERAL HOME, 7369 East Main Street. Graveside service for family to follow at 12:30 p.m. at East Lawn Burial Park, 1340 Woodland Avenue, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK, http://www.honorflight.org. Messages may be sent to his family by visiting www.cotnerfuneralhome.com.
