Mary Lake Obituary

Lake Mary Dixie Lake, age 75, of Bexley, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 8, 2017 at her home. She was born June 24, 1941 in Jackson County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Hensley) Rafferty. She was a licensed electrologist for over 40 years. Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack B. Lake; sons, Jack (JoAnn) Lake II and Greig (Steve Root) Lake; son-in-law, Troy Sierer; grandchildren, Andrew (Allyson), Nicole, Madelyn, Jack III, Josh, Lydia, Isaiah; four great-grandchildren, Madyson, Meredith, Andrew and Joshua. Also survived by her sisters and brother, Madelyn Muncy, George (Marilyn) Rafferty and Alice (Phil) Bush; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Leah J. Sierer. She was a graduate of Whitehall High School. Mary was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she volunteered as a wedding coordinator and a variety of other church causes. She was a member of the American Electrolysis Association. Most of all, she loved to care for her family by cooking and organizing family get- togethers. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 East State Street, Columbus, OH 43215. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 East Broad St., Columbus, OH with The Rev. Richard Burnett officiating. Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, Columbus, OH 43215. What can I say..... I have known you and your entire family since we moved to Bexley. 51 years to be exact. We were not just friends, we are family. You will be highly missed and to the entire Lake family, Heaven has received a wonderful Angel. God Bless.
