Julia Long Obituary

LONG Julia (Preidis) Long, age 95, slept away peacefully on April 4, 2011 at Edgewood Manor of Westerville. She was born June 13, 1915 in Columbus and graduated from South High School in 1930. Married Marden Long July 4, 1940 and had two children. Preceded in death by parents John and Rozalie Preidis, brothers Adolph, Anthony (Helen) Preidis, Victor (Rita) Preidis, and sister Helen (Jack) Campbell, husband Marden Long. Survived by daughters, Roznel (Long) Tanner and Patti (Robert) Olejniczak; grandchildren, Jill (Daniel) Scullion, Angela (Mike) Stephens and Tracy Olejniczak of North Carolina. Longtime member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Founding member of the Oakhurst Country Club. She and Marden traveled extensively from Hawaii, to Europe and Egypt. She enjoyed baking, playing golf and playing bridge and poker with their many friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St., Columbus. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 9 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel in St. Joseph Cemetery. Father William DeVille officiating.
