Bernard J. "Bud" La Londe, 84, of Granville, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017. Bud was born in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late John and Euphemia La Londe. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara La Londe, daughter Lisa Cox, and sister Sue McGinnis. Bud earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame, a Master's degree from University of Detroit, and his PhD from Michigan State University. He began his career as a professor at the University of Colorado and Michigan State University before joining the Marketing and Logistics faculty at The Ohio State University in 1969. Bud earned numerous awards/recognitions, authored over 120 articles and books and retired as Professor Emeritus of Marketing and Logistics. His passion was mentoring students, chairing over 60 doctoral dissertations. Bud was a humble, loving and engaging man. He was generous with his time, wisdom and his 'acorns'. He enjoyed photography, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He will be greatly missed by his loving children, Michelle La Londe and Christopher (Kaiya) La Londe; son-in-law, Mitch (Galina Khazanov) Cox; grandchildren, Peter La Londe, Leigh Cox, Katie (David) Farabee, and Harmony (Michael Hanning) Cox; and his sisters, Constance C. (Donald) Whitton and Janet Pillars; and dearest friends, Bryan and Emily Kelin, as well as many other extended family members and friends. Family will receive friends from 4-6 P.M. Monday, December 11, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where a memorial service will begin at 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bud's memory to The La Londe Scholarship Fund (#603874) Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University, 2100 Neil Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43210 or to The Lisa LaLonde-Cox Scholarship Fund at The Columbus Foundation (www.columbusfoundation.org).
