Jack D. Hutchison D.O.

HUTCHISON Jack D. Hutchison, D.O. died Sunday, January 16, 2011 after a lengthy illness. He was 89 years old. "Dr. Jack" was a graduate of Anderson University and Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in orthopedic surgery and practiced at Doctors Hospital in a career that spanned over 45 years. He served in many leadership positions at Doctors Hospital, including Medical Staff President and director of residency training in orthopedics. He served as President of the Ohio Osteopathic Association, and was recently recognized by the American Osteopathic Association as a Great Pioneer in Osteopathic Medicine. He also remained a loyal servant to his undergraduate alma mater serving on the board of trustees at Anderson University for 10 years. He was a founding member of Meadow Park Church of God in Columbus, Ohio. His influence as a healer, teacher, leader, friend, and wise counselor was felt by several generations in his profession, his church and beyond. He is survived by his children, Lee (Laurel), Jo (Gene), Kris, Dena (Stan), and Jeff (Kim); nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. His life will be celebrated at Meadow Park Church of God on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11 a.m., with family visitation following.
