Frank A. Case

1924 - 2016

Case Frank A. Case, 92, life-long resident of Columbus, died Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was born August 2, 1924 in Columbus to the late Albert and Julia (White) Case. Brother to Catherine, Nelson, Mary, Albert and Joseph all deceased. He was a 1943 graduate of St. Mary's High School (German Village) and attended The Ohio State University. He was a WWII Army veteran Engineer and retired from U.S. Postal Service. He was a 55 year member of St. Matthias Church, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers 1946-1985, Catholic War Veterans and the AMVETS. Lately Frank was a resident of Worthington Christian Village. He married Mary Oldroyd June 1946 and they were happily married for 59 years until Mary's passing in January 2005. He also enjoyed golf, gardening and walking. People loved his unique sense of humor and his warm, friendly manner. Frank is survived by daughters, Linda Sheehan of Columbus, Theresa (Orin) Hollander of Philadelphia and Joan (Christopher) Davies of Seattle; grandchildren, Christopher Sheehan, Suzanne Williams, Kate Suttner, Andrew Suttner, Ann Klem, Emma Davies and David and Matthew (1988-2008) Hollander; great grandchildren, Audrey, Jacob. Brady, Laine, Sybil, Cooper and Charlotte. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2-5 p.m. with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthias Church, 1582 Ferris Rd. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
