It has been over nine years since Eddie transitioned and went home to be with the Lord. I truly miss my dear friend but there is joy in my heart knowing that he is eternally secure in our loving Father's arms. My mind goes back to those times when Eddie and I hung out together, going to church, riding Atlanta's Marta trains, enjoying reading in the public library, and other things. Eddie was truly a very genuine and caring person. He really loved the Lord and sought to serve Him. I considered Eddie more than a baseball pro. He was my spiritual bro. I miss you, my brother!

On the anniversary of Eddie's passing, I can truly say that there were and are many times when I have thought about my brother. I miss him immensely. Even though he had been a baseball pro, most importantly to me, Eddie was my spiritual bro. We shared a unique bond and friendship. I greatly admired Eddie for having been such a zealous man of God, having had an intense fervor for the things of God, and a passion and love to reach out and help his fellow man. My brother, you are now safely tucked away in our Father's eternal care and experiencing joy and jubilance, beyond comprehension, in the presence of our wonderful Lord and Savior. I look forward to the day when we, once again, will be reunited. Even though I do not personally know Eddie's family, I pray for them.

I am so sorry to here about Eddie passing, my father James Van Hoose Sr. coached him at Marion Franklin and my brother also played ball with him in High School. My father spoke of him with fond memories and I always wished I could of met him. I am so sorry for your families loss.

Eddie and I were good friends in the Atlanta area. I was not aware that he had passed until I came across it on the internet. I loved my brother very much. My heart is deeply saddened. My condolences go out to his family.

Our children grew up with your children, and so we don't just consider you friends or neighbors, but you are like our extended family. Praying for the Milner family in these difficult times. Eddie and I were roommates for four years coming up through the minor leagues. Through these years we developed a tremendous friendship and bonded as brothers. Couldn't have asked for a better person to have in my life at that time or a better teammate. He will be greatly missed but we must take comfort knowing he is in a much better place, the arms of our Lord and Savior.

I first met Eddie when he came to Central State and a mutual friend told us to look each other up. As God would have it, he asked me to dance with him at a school party and while in conversation we both realized we were dancing with the very person we were to find! He and I became instant friends and I am a better person for it! Thank you Eddie for being my rock and friend.
