ABDON James "Jason" S. Abdon, age 59, born November 15, 1951, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 at his home in Savannah, GA. A wonderful son, brother, uncle, friend. While being a good samaritan, suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of coming to the aide of an elderly man in 1980. Paralyzed from the neck down, he slowly regained some mobility with tenacity of spirit. He had been chronically ill since. He was a sweet, loving, gentle soul. He was on a constant quest for knowledge, always in search of answers to so many questions of life. He was very politically active and a very strong democrat trying to right wrongs done by our government. He was always proactive, a blogger and was a constant contributor to the Huffington Post. He loved everything to do with history and Discovery TV, Star Wars, etc. Enjoyed his photography, self taught pianist, loved the classics, but adored Sir Elton John. His laugh was unforgettable and his blue eyes showed his tender heart, our dear mother once said of the Willie Nelson song "Blue eyes crying in the rain", that it reminded her of Jimmy as a baby. Was a "scientist" of life, a constant explorer. He graduated from South High School, class of 1970, Ohio State University and Columbus State with a B.S. and Associate of Science degrees. He belonged to many organizations, was an original charter member of the Columbus Jaycees. He was truly remarkable and we were all blessed to have known him. He leaves behind his two beloved dogs, "Jiggs" and "Java the Mutt". He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Goldie Abdon. He is survived by his sisters, Cheryl (Gene) Wolford, Rhonda (Eugene) Erwin; brother, Damon (Helen) Abdon; nephew, Jason (Kari) Dodson; niece, Brandie (James) Dommer; great-nephews, Jason Jr. and Carter Dodson. He requested a "green burial" which will be Sunday, December 19, 12Noon at Green Springs Natural Burial Cemetery, Ithaca, N.Y. A celebration of life service with communion to be held Tuesday, December 21, at 4 p.m. at Brookwood Presbyterian Church, 2685 E. Livingston Ave., Bexley, OH. Pastor John Birkner officiating. A special thanks to Hospice Savannah, GA, especially two angels of mercy RN Susan and RN Janet; RN Jamie of Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Food Pantry Brookwood Presbyterian Church.

Jim, I was in on your guest book on your anniversay date 5-12-11, but, too much thought to post, so, today, I am here again - strange, when you asked me several days before your death to try and get what Stephen Hawking uses to talk (he is on front page of yahoo.com today), and after checking and going all over - unavailable for your use then - I miss you Jim, love, your sister, cheryl

Jim, I miss you so much! I miss your laughter and your wit. It has been 2 months today since you passed 12-12-10. I can't wait to hug you again. There will be a celebration to behold when we will all be together again. The four of us; Damon, Rhonda, you and myself were always close, family always came first - no one came between us here as it will be there. Always together here and there, your spirit lives in your siblings and us in you. Give mom and dad a Valentine's Day hug and kiss from all of us and this prayer is bringing a big hug to you. We will see each other again, in our hearts and prayers, I love you so so much Jimmie, your loving sister and beloved friend, Cheryl

I was very young the last time I saw Jimmy. Uncle Paul used to come over to our house and tell us kids stories. I remember Cheryl (from the meter shop where Dad worked) and her Mom Goldie next best but like so many families we grow up and go our separate ways in life. God bless the other half of my family blood line. Our prayer are with you.

Jimmy, I have known your family since I was twelve years old. What I remember most about you is your extreme knowledge. You knew everything about everything. I also remember many wonderful times sitting at the kitchen table at your house laughing and eating your dad's awesome spaghetti! Last time I talked to you you were in Georgia by then and not doing to well. Even then you still had your infectious laugh. You will be sadly missed by all who loved you. Rest peacefully. Love Al and Chris Prince
