Mary Alice (Phillips) Nadley Obituary
Nadley Mary Alice (Phillips) Nadley, formerly of Marble Cliff, Ohio, passed away on December 14, 2013 in Newark, Ohio where she resided for the past two years. Born June 10, 1924 in Saint Paris, Ohio, the daughter of Lindsay Coleman Harris and Viola Mae Hamilton Harris, she was 89 years of age. Graduate of Johnson-Saint Paris High School, she attended Urbana College, Wittenberg, and Ohio State. After a 25 year career in retailing at Edward Wren Company, Higbee's, Haver's and the Union, she joined The Ohio State University Alumni Association in 1974. She retired from OSU in August of 1989. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grandview, very active in several church groups and the choir. Survived by children, Sharron Sue "Susie" (Keith) Johnson of Alexandria, OH and Verne Coleman Phillips of Charleston, W.Va; grandchildren, Jacob Robert Clark of Columbus, Dawn Marie Clark of Springfield, David Michael (Kathy) Clark of Fort Worth, TX, Lesley Kent (Barbara) Phillips II of Marysville, Christine "Chip" (Stephanie) Phillips of Seattle, WA, and Christopher Coleman Phillips of Charleston, W.Va; seven great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands Millard Francis "Jack" Phillips and John A. Nadley, her son Lesley Kent Phillips, daughter Theresa Lynne "Terrie" Phillips, and her brother William Henry Harris. Friends may call from 10 a.m.-12Noon on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where the Funeral Service will begin at 12Noon. Interment at Oak Dale Cemetery in Urbana, OH.
