Johnson Albert Culver Johnson, 84, died May 5, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born July 26, 1932 in Wadsworth, OH to Ralph and Yola Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eunice Ridenour and brother Charles (Joyce) Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen; sons, Gregory (Susan) and Steven (Thyrza); granddaughters, Elaine (Nathan) Millerberg and Angela Johnson; sister-in-law, Joan Howells; brother-in-law, Clarence Ridenour; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, (especially his buddy, Joey Mastrangelo) and many friends and neighbors. Albert graduated from East High School in 1950 and the Ohio State University in 1954. He proudly served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. He retired from Penske Truck Leasing after over 30 years in the truck leasing business. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at Broad St. UMC, 501 E. Broad St. Rev. Louise Seipel officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, Broad St. UMC or Capital Area Humane Society. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Central Ohio for their loving care of Albert, especially Shylah and Terri, and the staff of Otterbein Gahanna for the care extended to him.
