Raimonde, Albert P.
Albert Paul Raimonde, 91, died peacefully on February 14, 2018 at Kobacker House in Columbus, OH. He was born March 14, 1926 in Yorkville, Ohio to the late Raffaele S. and Anna Pulice Raimonde. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.After graduating from The Ohio State University, he began his career in education – teaching, and coaching high school sports in Willard, OH before becoming an administrator. He was principal at Clyde Middle School, then moved his family to Westerville, OH in 1966 where he was Assistant Principal at Westerville High School. After 35 years in education he retired to raise llamas and enjoy the farm he shared with his son, Paul. He was active in the Ohio River Valley Llama Association.Al was a creative and hard-working man who took great pride in the homes he built and remodeled, and his woodworking projects. He enjoyed gardening – having his hands in the dirt, and he grew the best tasting tomatoes. His faith and family were his inspiration for a life well-lived.He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Barbara (Alt) Raimonde, son Paul Raimonde, grandson Greg Wilson, brothers Dr. Anthony Raimonde and Orlando Raimonde and sisters Adelyn Raimonde and Dolores Raimonde. Surviving are daughters, Christine Evenson (Bob) of Galena, OH, Lynn Nowjack (Jim) of Westerville, OH, Mary Ellen Wickham (Matthew) of Conifer, CO, Jacqueline Raimonde of Lewis Center, OH; daughter-in-law, Charity Raimonde of Condit, OH; grandchildren, Katie Howitz (Marty), Barbie Skidmore (Kevin), Tiffany Raimonde, Artie Wickham (Sydnie), and Andy Wickham; brothers, Dr. Romeo Raimonde of Martins Ferry, OH, Rudy Raimonde of Phoenix, AZ, Dr. James Raimonde of Defiance, OH; and sister, Yolanda Dolan of Indian Land, SC. Friends may call Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2-5 PM at the Devore Snyder Funeral Home, 637 North State Rt. 61, Sunbury, OH 43074. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Westerville, OH 43082. Burial will follow at Burnside Cemetery in Genoa Township.
