Wells Alice "Jane" Wells, a longtime Worthington resident, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born in Columbus, Ohio to parents Joseph Edward and Roxie Belle (Monroe) Murnane. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Virginia L. (Clyde) McCoy, brother Joseph E. (Marge) Murnane and great-granddaughter Ashley Nicole Brown. Jane is survived by her sister, Marjorie A. (Chalmers P.) Wylie of Worthington and former husband Joseph H. Wells of Grove City. Jane dearly loved her six children; son, Larry (Colleen) Wells of Dayton; son, Mark (Joni) Wells of Dublin, daughter, Sharon (John) Carlson of Worthington; daughter, Virginia (Carl) Graf of Worthington; daughter, Roxanne (JD) Westfall of Roswell, Georgia; daughter, Constance (Richard) Carpenter of Howell, Michigan. Jane was devoted to her 11 grandchildren; Larry Richard Wells, Nicole (Ken Brown) Wells, Carl Joseph Graf, John Richard Carlson, Jennifer (Josh Rountree) Leone, Gabrielle (Arthur Palmer) Graf, Hillary Jane Carlson, Courtney Ann Carlson, Jack Daniel Westfall, Danielle (Scott Geib) Carpenter, Alicia Anne Westfall and Sarah Graf; and her seven great-grandchildren, Brittany Alexandra Brown, Augustus Joseph Graf, Greyson Luke Rountree, Mitchell Monroe Palmer, Micah Emmett Geib and Alice Jane Graf (namesake). Jane was president and valedictorian of her graduating class at Berlin High School in Delaware, Ohio. After 18 years of service she retired from the Ohio Secretary of State's office where she held the position of Chief Proofreader of laws and bills for the State of Ohio. Jane was a founding member of Saint Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Worthington, Ohio. Jane was an honorary member of The Columbus Maennerchor. Jane will be dearly missed and forever loved. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4-7p.m. at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME at 515 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Jane on Friday, December 27, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, 5750 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio, with Rev. Anthony Dinovo Celebrant. Burial immediately following at Berlin Township Cemetery (New Cheshire Cemetery), Delaware County, Ohio.
