Anita Callen Wiener

Obituary Condolences

Wiener Anita Callen Wiener went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 14, 2017; passing peacefully from this earthly life into eternity while friends from her church were reading scripture to her. Born April 15, 1945 in New Brighton, PA, Anita was the youngest daughter of Rudy E. and M. Ethel Layne Callen. She was the wife of the late Paul Lester Wiener, Jr. of New York City. She leaves behind her sister, Phyllis Neszpaul; two nephews; four nieces; and many great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two stepchildren, Robert and Susan; and four step-granddaughters. She lived in New York City for over forty years, working for Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. She attended Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and ladies' groups. She was a world traveler and enthralled family and friends with tales of the places she visited. Anita was also an excellent photographer and poet. She will be sadly missed. Many thanks to Dr. Jesse Frank and his palliative care staff who, along with the nurses and hospice team, gave Anita such loving final care at Doctor's Hospital West in Columbus, Ohio. Memorial service to be held at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 3417 Palmetto St., Columbus, OH 43204 on Saturday, June 3, at 2:30 p.m.
