Anne Shirley Godici Rapp, of Columbus, Ohio, joined her family in heaven on October 4, 2017. She was born the oldest of six children, to Celia (Castaldo) and Frank Godici in Oswego, New York on November 19, 1938. She graduated from Oswego High School and SUNY Oswego. In 1960, after college graduation, she moved to California and taught in the Norwalk La Mirada school district, where she was named Outstanding New Teacher of the Year. She married Wayne Rapp of Bisbee, Arizona in 1961 and they had four children. The family moved to Columbus in 1970. While raising her children, she worked as a substitute teacher and volunteered at Children's Hospital and her church. She also worked as an editor for McMillan McGraw Hill, AT&T, Paul Werth and Rockwell International. She was employed by the Secretary of State's office and worked on Bob Taft's gubernatorial campaign office and, for a time, was the operations manager for the Spirituality Network. She and her husband wrote the twenty-year history of that organization. In 1999, she and three friends started a Respite Program for low-income single mothers. Anne is survived by her husband, Wayne and her children, Theresa (Kevin) Briggs, Jeff (Melissa) Rapp, Lisa Hayes, David Rapp, and Jeff Smith (Cynthia Ashbrook). Also, her nine grandchildren, Michelle, Natalie and Monica Briggs, Madeleine, Brian and Olivia Rapp, Eric Hayes, Samantha and Charlie Rapp. Her siblings include Fran (Betty) Godici, Diane (Jim) Huckabee, Christine (Bob) Holmes, Lorraine Greene, and Ron Godici. In-laws include Will Rapp (Kathy Kolbe), Bob Rapp, Joyce (Tom) Leslie and their families. Friends may meet and offer condolences to Anne's family on Monday, October 9 between 3-6 P.M. at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, followed by a prayer service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spirituality Network and the Women's Respite Program. www.schoedinger.com
