Nowilaty Ash (Rashad) Nowilaty, age 23; our sweet, sweet Ash has crossed over to the loving light of peace on June 13, 2013, after a short journey on earth. Our son, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend...full of such depth and wisdom for such a young man; Ash felt so much of what really matters in people, and in life. His greatest passion were his friends and family; he loved connecting with people and had developed so many profound life-long bonds. Ash had a deep fervor for music--listening to it, writing it and playing his guitar. He loved poetry, and always had a journal to write his own when the mood hit him--a true artist at heart. He was a huge movie buff and vinyl record collector, and found so much joy in reading and learning; he could talk to anyone about nearly anything. He had a fondness for Audrey Hepburn, and was greatly inspired by a vast number of musicians. Ash had a special charm and was so gregarious--he drew people to him--sharing his beautiful, kind smile with all he came in contact with. Ash is survived by his mother, Erin (Hider) Nowilaty; his father, Haani Rashad Nowilaty; step-father Randy Kaminsky; grandmother, Marcia Hider; grandfather, Ambassador Rashad Nowilaty of Saudi Arabia; aunts, Jill (Hider) Peters, Dr. Sawsan Nowilaty and Yusra Nowilaty; uncles, Steve Hider and Dr. Mohamed Chihab Kechrid; cousins, Joey Peters, Dania, Lily and Yasmine Kechrid; half-siblings, Aalya, Canaan and Miryam Nowilaty; and his treasured, cherished friends...too numerous to name. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Bob Hider, grandmother Magda Ibesh Nowilaty, his uncle John Hider, and his life-long dearest friend and "brother" Jeff Stevenson. Our most heart-felt thanks to all of you who touched Ash's life. It means everything to us, just as it always did to him. He will always be missed terribly and never forgotten. WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH ASH! "Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same." A private memorial service will be held.
