Catherine "Katie" Norman-Welpe, age 78, Sunday, December 31, 2017 at home. Graduate of St. Mary High School, Class of 1957. Member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Erin, Shamrock Club, Columbus Ski Club, and Ginger Snaps senior dance group. Secretary at St. James Episcopal Church, past president of Church Secretaries Association, parishioner and choir member at Immaculate Conception Church. She loved Zumba, dancing and traveling and was an international hostel traveler. Enjoyed visiting the Columbus Metro Parks all year round. Preceded in death by parents Arthur and Esther Welpe, brother John Welpe and aunt Mina Metz. Survived by children, Molly Newberry (Bill Hoffman), Michael Tocci (Irene), Frank Tocci, Rosalie Kinney (Bill Knipe), Dianna DeVault; stepchildren, Vanessa (Gary) Hammond, Bryan (Lynn) Davis; grandchildren, Tony (Stephanie) Newberry, J.R. Newberry, Phillip Roy, Devon DeVault; great grandchildren, Logan, Chase, Mia, Kylie and Alex; sister, Rosie (Ron) Thomas; dear friend, Mark Nunley; nephews, Ron (Gloria), Rick (Anne Marie), and Randall Thomas. Family will receive friends Friday 5-8pm at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E. North Broadway St. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Assoc., 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
