Obituary Condolences

Mann Cathryn Mann, age 88, of Delaware and formerly of Galena, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Willow Brook Christian Village. She was born on April 20, 1929 in New Richmond, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mabel (Turner) Oetzel. A graduate of New Richmond High School in 1947, she went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Wilmington College. Cathryn taught grades 2-6 in her younger years. She married Olen Mann in 1953 and together they shared 61 wonderful years. Always a steadfast supporter of her husband, after teaching she worked as his receptionist with the Delaware Chiropractic Center. Sadly Olen died in 2014. She attended the Unity Church in Delaware and was a member of the AAUW and CCL. Cathryn enjoyed needle point, quilting, sewing, and tending to her garden. Other passions included traveling, drives through the mountains, as well as reading and journaling. Cathryn was happiest crafting something with a needle and thread. She will be remembered for her love of family, especially her granddaughters. She is survived by daughters, Cynthia Kay (Carl) Eyman of Sunbury, Donna Jean (Stephen) Favor of Westerville; grandchildren, Laren (Bryan) Cox, Ashleigh (Cass) Brown, Erin (Josh) Waldman, Lynsey (Jeff) Polley, Leah (Nick) Pahren; great grandchildren, Mackenna and Brody Cox, Logan and Lincoln Brown, Jaxon and Colton Polley, and Charlotte Waldman; brother, Robert (Sally) Oetzel; sister, Norma Jean (Roy) Graybill; and sister-in-law, Naomi Oetzel. She was also preceded in death by her brother Charles Oetzel. Friends may call 1-2:30 p.m. Monday at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 637 N. SR 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, where service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment Sunbury Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice or Willow Brook Christian Village.
