Senn, Charlotte 1921 - 2018
Charlotte Furber (Dunham) Senn, age 96, formerly of Upper Arlington and Granville, OH, died Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Kendal at Granville. She was born September 23, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Florence and Clarence Furber. She graduated from St. Louis Park High School and obtained her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the Ohio State University. She married Robert L. Dunham in 1948 and was widowed in 1954. She then married John E. Senn in 1959. She started her own nursery school in 1946 in Upper Arlington and eventually taught Kindergarten at Columbus School for Girls in Bexley, OH, until her marriage to John Senn. She was a passionate lover of music and taught private piano lessons for over 50 years both in Minneapolis and in Columbus. She is survived by her two children, Wendy Senn (Wise) of Columbus, Lance P. Senn, DDS (Theresa) of Granville; and two stepchildren, Suzanne Senn Diehm (Paul) of Lancaster, and Jack Senn (Marlene) of Wooster; eight grandchildren, Molly Senn-McNally (Mosie), Henry Senn (Sarah), Tami Wise (Scott Miller), Jeffrey Wise (Lilah Fisher Wise), Kristen Diehm ( Mike Dickerson), Allison Diehm (Jerred Phillips), Katie Senn (Kyle Reynolds), Andy Senn, and one deceased grandchild, Connor Senn; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Columbus for many years and later served as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Granville. She was a proud member of Wednesday Literary Club and served as its President from 1976 - 1980. She was also a member of the Columbus Music Teachers Association as well as P.E.O. in Granville. Her family and her music were the central cores of her life. There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life on February 24, 2018, at 2 pm in the Amelia Room at Kendal at Granville, 2158 Columbus Road, Granville, OH 43023. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in her name to: Caring Friends Fund, Kendal at Granville, 2158 Columbus Road, Granville, OH 43023.
