Obituary Condolences

Lephart Christie K. Lephart, 89, of Dublin, died Friday, June 23, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born October 4, 1927 in Muskegon, Michigan, daughter of Albert and Bertha (Folkerth) Kester. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 53 years Creighton Lowell Lephart. Christie graduated from Greenville High School, class of 45, and graduated from the Dayton Art Institute. She went on to earn a B.S. of Art Education from the University of Dayton, a Master of Art Education from Louis University in Evanston, Ill. and Post Grad Study in Art Curriculum at Northern Illinois University. She was a member of Central Ohio Watercolor Society and the Southern Watercolor Society. Her work was shown at major exhibitions including Associated Artists National, Southport NC, and Wendy's International Diversity Fair. Over the years, her artwork has received numerous awards. Christie taught art in the public school system in Ohio and Illinois to children from Kindergarten to High School. Chris is survived by her loving partner, Dr. Joe Gauthier; her son, Kevin Lephart and his wife Kathy of Miramar Beach FL; daughter, Rebecca Destin and her husband Dewey of Destin, FL; grandchildren, Katie Kochelek (Tony), Kyle Lephart (Shannon), Parker Destin (Tarra), Cameron Ayres (Drew), Grant Destin (Mackenzie) and Drew Destin; and great grandson, Fox Kochelek. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 noon Wednesday, June 28 at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery, Abbottsville, Oh.
