Cicily Ann Bostwick Horan, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Oakleaf Village under the care of hospice while surrounded by loved ones. She was born January 12, 1931 in Berlin, Wis. Cicily was a wife, mother to many, world traveler, former journalist, retired Ohio State University employee, writer for American Greeting and devoted member of the Catholic Church. Her lifelong love of learning was reflected in her educational attainment of a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, and master's degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University. Cicily was known for her quick wit, selflessness and ability to impart knowledge on those around her. Cicily is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Horan, parents Arthur and Leone Bostwick and grandchild Nina "Nick" Horan. Cicily is survived by her brother, Arthur (Mary Anne) Bostwick of Chicago; sisters, Sally Bostwick of Alaska, Jill (George) Gates of Alaska; children, Dana Horan of Columbus, John Horan of Washington, D.C., Kitty Horan (Jonathan Johns) of Columbus, Paula "Polly" Horan (Charles) Moseley of Athens, Ohio, Theodore "Ted" (Joanne) Horan of Asheville, N.C., Vicci (Scott) Simpkins of Cleveland, Ohio, Duffy (Amie) Horan of Clintonville; grandchildren, Jason Johns of Urbana, Ill, Cassiopeia Moseley of Athens, Ohio, Tom Johns of Clintonville, Megan Moseley of Maui, Sam Johns of Columbus, Henry Jordan Moseley of Columbus; one great-grandchild, Whitlee Brooks of Albany, Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be dearly missed. The Family would love to acknowledge Michael Bowles of Via Quest for his loving care and for being Cicily's Guardian Angel during her final journey. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 3 at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 4 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clintonville. Private family inurnment.
