Strome Clarence F. "Curly" Strome, 86, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013. He was born January 22, 1927, the son of Edward and Dorothy (Jenkins) Strome. Clarence served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a former district manager for H&R Block. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Clarence is survived by his daughters, Sara Jane (Scott) Vanmeter of Columbus, OH and Shirley Jean Myers; his loving companion of twelve years, Joyce Capper; brothers, Daryl (Marty) Strome and Larry (Jan) Strome, all of Springfield; a sister, Dorothy (Tona) Carter of Lancaster, OH; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma Jean Strome in 2000, and a brother Ed Strome. A Private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
