Obituary Condolences

Rueckel Constance Lynne Rueckel, born October 23, 1942, passed away on May 18, 2017 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Connie was a cheerleader at Belmont High School in Dayton, Ohio. She met her beloved husband, (Owen) Rick, in 1956 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. After she was married, Connie worked at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio. She started her antique business, Strawberry Tree Antiques in 1978, and loved her trips all over the east coast with her husband to find unique antiques. Connie loved her annual trips to New York City. She cooked gourmet meals that would put Martha Stewart to shame, as she would say. Connie loved Fall and Christmas, and decorated her home with a passion for her family and friends. She was a devoted Mimi and grandma to her grandchildren. Connie had a lively spirit, was known as a real pisser, and had an orneriness that made her loved by all that met her. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Fred Horn, and her beloved daughter Rachael Lynne. Connie is survived by her devoted husband, Rick; daughters, Susan and Carrie (Aaron); grandchildren, Sarah, Shane, Morgan and Riley; sister, Judy Ault; and her cherished doggy, Lilly Ann. Friends may visit Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St., Columbus, OH 43206.
