David Alan Allsbrooks Obituary
Allsbrooks David Alan Allsbrooks, 42, passed suddenly on May 21, 2017. A beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son, uncle, brother and friend, David will be missed by all who knew him. Dave was a person known for his warm smile, a heart of gold and his friendly disposition. He most enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, playing outside as a family, reading to children, and being together. He loved being outside, often golfing or fishing, but mostly chasing the kids around in the yard. He was a man of many talents - swimming, basketball, cooking and building. He loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. He also loved cheering for his Ohio State Buckeyes. Dave was a Marine from 1992 to 1996, including service abroad, before being honorably discharged. After the military, he enjoyed a successful career in restaurant management in Columbus, Ohio, then later working the management of commercial real estate for the Washington Prime Group in both Ohio and Oklahoma. Dave was born on August 7, 1974 in Georgia to Brenda Allsbrooks Slifer and Bobby Joe Allsbrooks. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Bridgett Clark Allsbrooks; son, Wyatt (6); daughters, Fiona (3) and Piper (4 months); his mother and step-father and step-sister, Brenda Slifer (Eric, Erica Alverado); his uncle, James and Mary Allsbrooks; his cousins, Kathy Hunt and Robin Navotny; his in-laws, David and Mary Clark; his sister, Emily Allsbrooks Rhoads (Ed); his sister-in-law, Gretchen Clark Hammond (Jake); and his nieces and nephew, Baileigh, Brooke and Landon Rhoads, and Maya and Kyla Hammond. His many caring relatives and close friends will miss Dave dearly. If life is measured by the lives that we touch, than Dave was a rich man, always surrounded by many caring friends in Columbus and Oklahoma City. Everyone's lives are better for having known Dave. Think of him when you venture outside or when you spend time with your children and loved ones. The family is grateful for your love and support during this time. The family will be available to greet friends beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 at the Scioto Reserve Country Club, 7383 Scioto Parkway, Powell, OH 43065 with services including Military Honors at 4 p.m. and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages consideration for the children's future via the long-term fund that has been set up with: The Chaddock Group, Ameriprise Financial Services 8008 N. High St., Ste. 150, Columbus, OH 43235 *checks sent directly should be made out to "Ameriprise" with "FBO The Allsbrooks Family" in the memo Please also note that the two GoFundMe.com accounts that were set up by friends (search=Allsbrooks) have been recognized by the family and will be used to help offset immediate needs.
