David Faustin Hack Obituary
Hack Captain David Faustin Hack (USN, retired), age 75, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 5, 1942 in Cleveland, OH. David was the second of 8 children. He was a graduate of St. Edward High School and John Carroll University. He enlisted in the Navy in 1964. David served in Vietnam on a swift boat and enjoyed a 27-year naval career. He went on to work, for a number of years, at the Aloha United Way. On October 5, 1968, he married Linda (Doyle) to whom he was married to for over forty-eight years. To their union was born two children, Janet (David) Wood and Mark Hack. David had seven grandchildren, David, Callan, Ivan, Maximus, Madison, Anthony and Vincent. His six surviving siblings and their spouses include, Jacquelyn (Gerald) Plenzler, Edward (Susan) Hack, Patricia (Edward) Coleman, Bernadette (Robert) Hallahan, Timothy (Robin) Hack, Thomas (Eva) Hack. Additionally, David had many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Faustin and Lucille (Ockuly) Hack and brother Daniel Hack. Family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will take place later that day at 3 p.m. at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 North Hague Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43204.
