During David's final days, he was surrounded by his immediate family; wife Grace, son Mark, and daughter Molly. They were thankful, he died peacefully with no pain. David was born in Columbus, Ohio, September 13, 1939 to the late Elta and Joseph McClure. He was raised in Clintonville, attending Medary Elementary and graduated North High School in 1957. He was proud to be a "North High Polar Bear" and remained friends with a lot of his high school buddies throughout his life. He spent the first year after high school in Washington D.C. working for the F.B.I. He returned to Columbus and attended Ohio State University. He graduated undergrad with an B.S.-Business Administration/Economics (1961) and Law School, Juris Doctor in 1964. His second year law school, he was on the Law Journal. Later, he worked at the Franklin County Prosecutor's office in the Civil Division, Certified Oil as general counsel, and the Law Offices of John Alden. He retired in 2008. In his early years, David enjoyed golfing, fly fishing, and grouse hunting. As he aged, he enjoyed working out and cooking, specializing in his ragu. He loved to read and usually had five books going at once. David brought joy and a chuckle to everyone he met. A man who made friends easily and valued each and everyone of them. He was a kind and caring husband, father, step-father, and grandfather and proud of us all. Each and everyone of us have our own memories that will never fade. He was preceded in death by his first wife Virginia Gross McClure and sister Joanna Irish. He is survived by wife, Grace; son, Mark McClure; daughter, Molly Britt; step-daughters, Christy (Keith) Dennis and Lori (Mike) Beatty; step-son, Matthew Leukart; his sister, Jean (Craig) Miller; brother, Bob McClure; and seven grandchildren, Allie France, Lauren Britt, Charlie Britt, Ashley Beatty, Justin Beatty, Hayden Leukart, and Audrey McClure. Because of his dynamic personality, he will be sadly missed by all who came into contact with him and especially his family and all of his long time friends.
