Dennis Evan Tumblison Obituary
Tumblison Dennis Evan Tumblison, age 83, of Pickerington, Ohio died on December 8, 2015. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on May 16, 1932 to the late Everett and Marian Tumblison. He married the love of his life, Beverly Tumblison, on October 28, 1955, and he devoted the next 60 years of his life to loving her and supporting the activities of his children and grandchildren. Dennis proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a Department Chief for Western Electric/ATT/Lucent for over 30 years overseeing the maintenance department, tool room, construction, and test set department. He was honored as one of ATT's top 30 employees. He was part of many charitable endeavors while he was employed by Western Electric. He was a huge Buckeye fan especially enjoying O.S.U./Michigan rivalries. He was an athlete himself participating in football, track, and swimming. He was an All-State track and swimming star in high school. He was instrumental in organizing the Chevington Woods Civic Association and the Chevington Woods Kingfish swim team where he was the starter for many years. He also started the Pickerington Annual Band Festival which still continues today. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Brian, his siblings Dick, Sandy, Carol, and David. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Beverly Tumblison; daughter, Lori (Brent) Stephenson; son, Britt Tumblison; daughter-in-law, Kristi Tumblison; grandchildren, Ashley (Cory) Foote, Amee (Chris) Bigelow, Whitney (Craig) Smith, Elizabeth Tumblison and Bradley Tumblison; four great grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces. Friends and family may visit from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, Ohio 43147. A funeral service officiated by Dr. Jeffrey Greenaway will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 14 at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068.
