Dolores Merritt Adair Obituary
Adair, Dolores Merritt
Dolores "Dee" Merritt Adair, age 89, of Friendship Village of Dublin, passed away with her children by her side August 19, 2017. Dee was born in Warren, Ohio and grew up in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Roland and Valeria Merritt. Also preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Adair, brother Jack Merritt and wife, June and sister-in-law Sara Merritt. She graduated from North High School in 1945 and from The Ohio State University in 1949. Dee was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for 50 years. Dee was never one to be idle and enjoyed making quilts for her family, prayer shawls for her church, participating in book clubs, traveling, cheering for the Buckeyes and various other activities to keep her always on the go. Family was what she cherished most and she loved having them all nearby. One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother and living to see her seven great grandchildren. "Mom", "Grandma Dee" or "GG" will be greatly missed by her children, Diane (Andy) Adair-Himes and David (Susan) Adair; grandchildren, Melinda Lively, Molly Allen, Brian (Michelle) Adair, Adam Adair and Matthew Adair; and great grandchildren, Evan, Paige, Mackenzie, Mallory, Drew, Abigail and Sophia; as well as twin brother, Donald Merritt; and many extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Monday, August 28 at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Road. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in her memory, 2070 Ridgecliff Road, Columbus, OH 43221.
