CARPENTER Dorothy "Dottie" Boggs Carpenter, 72, passed away November 12, 2012 at Kobacker House (Hospice Facility) in Columbus, Ohio. A resident of Delaware, Ohio and Dunedin, Florida she was born January 20, 1940, the daughter of Janet Jones Boggs and Charles Naumann Boggs in Circleville, Ohio. She was a graduate of Circleville High School and Miami University (OH). Dottie was a person of wide interests that varied over her lifetime. She was a member of St. Johns' Episcopal Church, Lancaster, OH, active in the alter guild and Sunday School and a past member of Lancaster Hospital Twig 14. In Florida, she was a past member of Clearwater Yacht Club, sailed and served on the racing committees. Later in life she became an avid rug hooker, was a member of the Pinellas County Heritage Hooking Group, the Woolly Witches Rug Hooking and Discussion Society, and a certified Pearl McGown Rug Hooking Teacher. Throughout her life Dottie was an outstanding cook, hostess and, above all, a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend to many. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James W. Carpenter; her daughter, Dr. M. Leah Carpenter and son-in-law, Dr. Adam W. Ballard; grandchildren, Charles, Ella and James Ballard of Delaware, OH and brother-in-law, David E. Carpenter of Thorp, WA. Funeral service will be held at St. Johns' Episcopal Church, Lancaster, OH at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29.
