1959 - 2017
Douglas Edward Bevan. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Douglas Edward Bevan will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, August 26th at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME in Worthington, OH. Doug passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. He was born March 1, 1959 in Columbus, OH to Dan (deceased) and Alice Bevan. He is also survived by immediate family, Cathy; son, Tony Dawson (Charity); and his two grandchildren, Eden and Eli, the lights of his life. Other survivors include brothers, Dan (Linda), David (Stefany), Geoff (Linda); mother-in-law, Evelyn; brother-in-law, Keith Moore (Leslie); beloved nieces and nephews, Michelle (Kip), Ryan, Nate (Nikki), John, Sam, Jacob, SheaLee, Alexa, Jen, Joe, Leah and Mitchell; and by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Doug also leaves numerous Troy, Honda, and Worthington friends. Doug graduated from Worthington High School, Class of 1977. Immediately following high school, he spent three years in the U.S. Army, receiving his honorable discharge. He attended The Ohio State University. In 1986, Doug began a 30-year career with Honda of America as an Engineering Coordinator with HAM Purchasing Operations at the Anna, OH facility. Doug was an avid Ohio State football fan and spent many Saturdays at the Shoe tailgating and cheering on the Buckeyes. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, and traveling to the beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Most of all, Doug loved and cherished his family. Husband, father, Pappy, son, brother, and uncle describe him best. There is no way to describe what he meant to us; to count the things that he did for all of us; and no conceivable way to describe how much he will always be missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Doug's memory to The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University. The OSUCCC – James 660 Ackerman Road, 6th Floor, PO Box 183112, Columbus, OH 43218-3112.
