ELLIS Douglas Nathaniel Ellis was the ninth child born to Gladys and Perry Ellis Sr. on September 15, 1942. He peacefully departed this life on January 4, 2013 at Zusman Hospice at Wexner Heritage Village. He retired from The Ohio State University Building Services Department. U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Doug is preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Perry Ellis, maternal grandparents Harry and Susan Williams, paternal grandparents Mattie and Gilbert Ellis, brothers Willie, Paul and Charles, sisters Maybelle Curtis, Winifred Mitchell and Gladys Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Perry (Martha) Ellis; sisters, Gwendolyn and Theresa (John) Wilkes; special niece, Toni Brown-Cannaday; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Special acknowledgement to Sara and Lisa at Zusman Hospice and Prof. Clymer at The Ohio State University. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at CALIMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, 3700 Refugee Road. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Elder Richard A. Lyles will officiate. Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery, Soldier Section.
