Duane Annable Obituary

ANNABLE Duane W. "Skip" Annable, age 74, of Columbus, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born November 25, 1933, in Sturgis, SD, he was a graduate of Minot (ND) High School, and was a career veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Army. He later retired from Worthington Industries/Buckeye Steel and was lately employed at Value City Warehouse. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Groveport. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Annable; children, Gary (Donna) Annable, Pascagoula, MS, Tamela (Gregg) Taylor, Petal, MS, Saundra (Bill) Geng, Groveport, Michael Annable, Reynoldsburg; grandchildren, Patrick Annable, Crystal (Howard) Powell, Christopher Annable, Jason Dement, DeAnn Dement, Christopher Geng, Morgan Geng; brother, Donald Annable, Billings, MT; and was eagerly anticipating the birth of his first great-grandchild in a few weeks. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Groveport, 5521 Groveport Road, Groveport, OH 43125 with the Rev. Dr. Gregory Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Friends who wish may contribute to the church building fund or the American Cancer Society in Duane's memory. Barb and Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Skip passing. Skip open his heart and home to so many people. I don't think he ever met a stranger. He was able to connect to so many people. I love you all. I am also thankful that I had the opportunity to meet Skip and was welcome into your family. Miss you all !!!

Skip and You were my Father and Mother since they passed. Just want to thank you so much for opening you home to me so many times. Not sure where I would have been without the help of you two. I will miss Skip as I would my own Father. I will very deeply miss him.

Good man! Haven't seen him since our days serving together in the 136th Field Artillery of the Ohio National Guard and that was about 25 years ago.

I remember "Skip" as if I was talking to him yesterday. Good man... great soldering with him and the honor was all mine!
