Edward Bridges was a gift of kindness to this world we live in. Ed was a modern day knight, using himself as a strong and steady example of good to everyone he came in contact with; youth, friends, co-workers, and elderly people. Everyday Ed demonstrated a magnified spirit of kindess, giving, and respectfulness; being able to talk to anyone, and having a smile for everyone. I will miss laughing with Ed, and exchanging ideas and thoughts with Ed. My condolences to Ed's family in Austin, and Columbus, to whom his passing must be a trememdous loss. His friends also feel this loss. Ed touched many lives; helped, encouraged, and empowered many people. We truly miss you.

It was my honor to work with Ed at the fire dept. We had a lot of fun together. You made those meetings with the Black Firefighters at the house very interesting. Ed your smile, warm heart and the love that you shared with so many will be sorely missed. I know that you lived life to the fullest and you are alright now. you walk with our Lord God. Rest in peace. You will always be a part of me and my life. Take care my friend we love you.

A friend is like a flower,
a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart that goes
strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world
if we didn't have a friend.

Love Always
Your Friend

You told me
Once you've loved there's a part of your heart that simply belongs to that person. It can't be sold or rented out it's theirs you gave it to them, and they live in it, claiming its space for all time... I know I'll love you forever.

We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our good friend. Ed was a man of principle, compassionate, kind and caring; always steadfast in his desire to seek equity for all people. I had the good fortune of working with him and calling him "friend." He will be sorely missed. I send my deepest condolences and prayers.
