Eleanor Dare McLeod McClenny, 79, died Nov. 23, 2017. She was born in Dothan, and had lived in Alabama, several places in Florida and Ohio, and also in Virginia, before moving to Westerville Ohio in 2012. She graduated from Dothan High School, and became a court reporter, a job she excelled at for over 30 years. After retiring from Court Reporting, she began working as a tax advisor with H&R Block and then volunteered with AARP and Church of the Saviour UMC doing taxes for non-profits. Eleanor was an accomplished soprano, singing solos and in choirs most of her life. Her family and church were her passions. She was preceded in death by her parents Nadine and John McLeod, as well as her husband of 55 years, Walter McClenny. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Kimble (David) of Boulder, Colorado, and Karla Wright (Brent) of Westerville, Ohio; grandchildren include Adam Behrman (Jessica) and Amy Behrman Tuck (John), Casey, Salem (Bago), Kiley and Simon Kimble; and one great-granddaughter, Johanna Behrman. Her sister, Charlotte Pedersen died less than two weeks later on Dec. 6. In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church, 51 N.
