Obituary Condolences

Fullwiler Ellis I. Fullwiler, age 97, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away at home on Friday, May 26, 2017 in Hilliard. He was born on October 29, 1919, in Cerro Gordo, Illinois, the son of Val and Ruth (Boyd) Fullwiler. He retired in 1979 from Ohio Department of Transportation after 30 years of service as a civil engineer. He was a 1938 graduate of E.L. McClain High School, and a graduate of Ohio University in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII flying 30 missions as a Bombardier on a B-24. He later served in the Air Force Reserves and retired with the rank of Major. He was a member of St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield. He is survived by two sons, Bill (Peg) Fullwiler and John Fullwiler both of Columbus; five grandchildren, Matthew, Bailey, Megan, Jared, and Jenna; a host of nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law, Sam Coriell of Germantown, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his wife Hildred (Coriell) Fullwiler on September 30, 2013, four sisters Mary Mossbarger, Nellie McClure, Susan Carson, and Esther Mehalow. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 2 at the MURRAY-FETTRO FUNERAL HOME in Greenfield with Father Mike Paraniuk and Rev. Terry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Greenfield. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday.
