Elsie Dare Clendenen, age 100, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Crown Pointe Care Center, Columbus, OH, after a brief illness. Born to John S.J. Reynolds and Mary Ellen Nicholas Reynolds on May 9, 1917 in Milton, WV, she was raised on a farm. On December 24, 1939, Elsie married the love of her life, Orland R. (Bud) Clendenen. They built a home in Cross Lanes, WV, where they lived until just before Bud's passing in 2003. After that, Elsie lived in Reynoldsburg, OH, near her daughter. They also had a home in Palm Harbor, FL, where they were snowbirds for 30 years. Elsie was a homemaker who loved cooking, baking and, most of all, spending time with her family. Preceded in death by brothers Merrill, Oliver and Everett and sisters Nellie Meadows, Thelma Yates, Lois Harbour, and Lola Clendenen. She is survived by son, Ronald (Patricia) Clendenen of Waynesville, NC; and daughter, Sharon Davies of Reynoldsburg, OH. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Tammy (Sherri Morgan) Sebert, Todd (Tina) Sebert, Tonya (Shawn) Walker, Christy (Russell) Polly, and Reed (Tara) Clendenen; and seven great-grandchildren, Abby and Justin Clendenen, Allison, Tyler and Ella Walker and Jared and Justin Sebert. Visitation at 2 p.m. and funeral at 3 p.m. will be at TYLER MOUNTAIN FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, September 20, followed by interment at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV.
