Frederick F. Erdy Sr. Obituary
Erdy Frederick F. Erdy, Sr., age 93, of Grove City, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017. Fred was born In Millfield, OH to the late Joseph and Theresa Erdy. He served his country in World War II and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and repairing lawnmowers and other items in his garage. Fred retired from Pleasant TWP as Road Superintendent. He also had a lawn mowing business for many years. He was one of the founding parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Fred enjoyed young people, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. When the grandkids saw their Pappy, they knew dum-dum suckers would be passed out soon. Fred is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Joan, son Jerry, brother Joseph and nephew Mark. He is survived by his children, Fred Jr. (Diane), Jeff (Kelly), Lori (Tim) Sweeney, and Bryan Erdy; grandchildren, Fred (Carrie), Scott (Angie), and Laura Erdy, Allison, Rachel, and Will Sweeney, Julie (Eric) Mastilak and Josie Erdy; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Griffin and Betty Reinhard; brothers, Bill (Marilyn) and Walt Erdy; niece, Clara Harding; nephew, Matthew Gannon; special friend and caregiver, Edie Canterbury. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway. Rosary Service 7:30 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway, Grove City. Rev. Fr. Daniel Millisor, Celebrant. Interment with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery.
