Gary L. Bepler, age 72, of Columbus, formerly of Weirton, WV, died December 25, 2017 in Sarasota, Florida after complications following surgery. Born April 30, 1945 in Gainesville, Texas to the late Louis and Edith Bepler, he was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Gary worked for State Farm for 48 years where he was an agent for 44 years. He was a graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania where he played football for the Lycoming Warriors. Gary was an avid golfer and sports fan. He loved his family, the Buckeyes and the Steelers. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jean; children Luann (Mike) Bepler-Todd and their children, Garyck, Carleigh, Brenna; Mike (Jaime) Bepler and their children Matthew, Jackson, Keifer, Carter, Reid; Jiny (Jason) Bepler-Boyd; brother, Rick (Linda) Bepler; and many dear family and friends. Friends may visit 2-4 p.m. & 5-8 p.m. Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, Ohio 43110. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church South, 4760 Winchester Pike, Columbus, Ohio 43232 with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Asbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church South Memorial Fund.
