KOSBAB George C. Kosbab, PhD., age 74, of Grove City passed away January 1, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, after a lengthy Illness. He received his undergraduate, Masters and PhD. from The Ohio State University. George retired from the State Dept. of Education where he was Assistant Director of Voc-Ed Division. A member of Grace of God Lutheran Church, his affiliations include Columbus/ Grove City B.P.O.E. #37 Elks, BP Elks Captains Club-Honoree 1995, Luther B. Turner #732 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, York Rite Bodies, Aladdin Shrine, Potentate 2OHOH2, Reception Unit, Hilltop Shrine Club, Southeast Shrine Club, Ambassadors, Columbus Cabiri#84 (Sec./Treas. 2004), Honorary member of Aladdin Clown, Brutal Bros., Legion of Honor and Provost Units, Royal Order of Scotland, Royal Order of Jesters, Court #8, Past President Grove City High School Athletic Boosters, Life member of Ohio Education Association and American Vocational Association, Iota Lambda Sigma fraternity and Sandusky High School Alumni Association. Preceded in death by his father George C. Kosbab Sr., mother Eveline Kosbab, step-father Benjamin Tanner and sister Faye Stahl. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley; sons, Steven (Karen L.) and Kenneth (Karen S.) Kosbab; granddaughter, Brenda S. Kosbab (Shaun); and sister, Mary Lou Wieland; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may visit Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME 2697 Columbus Street Grove City, Ohio. A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Diemer officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery.
