He dedicated much of his time to the financial aspects of the church and thrived on singing in the choir. . . . . George leaves his brother, Donald Griffith "Grif" Ryerson; sister-in-law, Mary D. S. "Deedee" Ryerson; and his niece, Mary Dake Ryerson; as well as several cousins. I am sorry to hear of your loss. He was a valuable resource at Chemical Abstracts Service. He was always open to discussion of Chemistry. He was very pleasant during our discussions. What happened to the Memorial Service on 11/5/2015?

It was an honor to have worked with George over the years at CAS. His patience, good humor, and knowledge were a tremendous asset to all of us. I enjoyed talking with him over l lunch and at other times. It was sometimes challenging to draw hime out, but when he opened up, it was always magnificent.
He will be sorely missed. I enjoyed visiting with him at the picnic. Last time we chatted, I asked how he was. He replied, "Fine, fine... well, not really... getting older you know." I will treasure my memories of him.

George was a regular attender of the Month dinners with a group from Columbus Gas Buddies. We had dinner all over the city and George joined us much of the time. A very nice and personable friend. We will miss you George.

George trained me to compose and write abstracts when I first came to CAS in 1970, and remained a wonderful resource person until I retired in 2001. He will be missed.

Little known fact is that George covered motor sports for one of the earliest online sites. He introduced my late husband Ken and me to CompuServe's Racing Information Systems, the jumping off point for our post-retirement careers as motor sports journalists. Thank you, George...may you and Ken meet on the podium after you take the checkered flag. RIP

Dr. George Ryerson is a greatest scientist, scholar and editor I ever met at CAS. He was my trainer over two years and my mentor until he retired. He understood and read very well many difficult languages such as Russian, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian, portuguese, German,...
Dr. George Ryerson was my greatest teacher.Dr. George Ryerson, please rest in peace.
