George G. Bowman Jr. Obituary
Bowman George G. Bowman, Jr., age 76, passed peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. George was born on April 20, 1940 in Columbus to George G. and Virgie (Hunt) Bowman Sr. George attended Franklin Heights High School and served our country proudly in the US Air Force. After the military George worked for his own construction company which merged with Trans America Builders where he retired after 34 years. In his more active years George attended Chapel Hill Freewill Baptist Church, member of Moose Lodge #11 and Star Dust Lanes where he held an average of over 200. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State University. George will be remembered for his love of his family. Being a wonderful father and grandfather which he played numerous games with until his passing. Preceded in death by his parents. Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon L. Bowman; children, Bruce (Pam) Bowman, Shonda (Bill) Fletcher and Mary Patterson; grandchildren, Brian, Matt, Wendy, Jessica, Billy, Nathan and Chandra; great grandchildren, Alexis, Cierra, Alyssa, Logan, Brycen, Bentley, Brayden and Laci; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the HOPE & HEART FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Graveside service and interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery - Georgesville on Alkire Rd.
