Gerald A. "Jerry" Miller, age 76, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Jerry is survived by Linda (Bennett) Miller, his wife of 55 years; his son, Jeffrey Miller and daughter, Jody Miller; daughter-in-law, Rachel Gonzalez and son-in-law, Dhashartha "Puny" Gunawardena; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Larry Middendorf and Joan and Mark Carlisle; dear nephews, Joe Miller and son Anthony, Mark "Bubba" and Michael Carlisle, and other nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Jack) and Elona Miller; granddaughter, Ashlee Barton and great-grandson, Kash Vesser. He was preceded in death by his mother Olive (Simpson) Miller, father Aloysius "Albert" Miller, brother James "Jim" Miller, and nephew Brian Middendorf. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, he graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Class of 1959). Jerry was owner, president and CEO of Typographic Printing Company and past-president of the Printing Industry of Central Ohio. A dedicated Ohio State football fan, Jerry proudly printed Woody Hayes' books. He was a member of the Brother's Club for over 40 years, including serving as the Club's president. He served for nine years as a member of the Island Winds Condominium Board in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, including as secretary, and was entertainment chairman for Island Winds. In his younger days he played amateur softball, and throughout his life he was an avid golfer. He and his wife Linda split their time between their homes in Canal Winchester and Fort Myers Beach. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 12 from 2-6 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 South High Street. Friends and family will meet for a Memorial Mass 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Saint John XXIII Catholic Church, 5170 Winchester Southern Road, Canal Winchester 43110.
