Giovanni "John" DiPaolo, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 1, 2017. He was born April 3, 1930 in Introdacqua, Italy to the late Francesco and Angelina (Centofanti) DiPaolo. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1950 at the age of 19. He served in the United States Army for 2 years. Giovanni was a member of the S.F.I, Aurora Club, American Italian Golf Association and Riviera Country Club. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. His Christian faith was very important to him. He enjoyed reading his Bible and sharing his faith. John and his late wife Mary were members of The Connection Church where they worshiped and served for many years. He also enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship and was a participant in a prison ministry. Giovanni embraced the American culture, however, his Italian Heritage and traditions were very important to him. He enjoyed cooking large Italian meals for his family and friends. He was an avid gardener, golfer, mall walker, hard worker, an appreciation for music and had a great sense of humor. John liked the challenge of repairing things. He fixed just about anything. In addition to his parents, Giovanni is preceded in death by his brothers; Marion (Maria) DiPaolo and Feliciano (Maria) DiPaolo. John is now reunited with his beloved wife of 60 years; Mary Ann (Hamilton) DiPaolo. He is survived by his children; Frank (Diana) DiPaolo and Carla (David) Stacy. Grandchildren; Kurt (Emma) DiPaolo and Isabella Arianna Stacy, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Family and friends may call Friday January 12, 2018 from 3pm to 7pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229. A funeral service will take place Saturday at 10am at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL.
