Glenn Curtis Rogers Obituary
Rogers Glenn Curtis Rogers left this earth on Sunday, May 7, 2017 to be with his heavenly family. Glenn was born in Buffalo, N.Y. July 18, 1947 to Larraine and James E. Rogers, both deceased. He was raised in Columbus, Ohio with his big brother James M. Rogers (Carolyn). Thanks, Jim, for everything, for all the good memories. Glenn graduated from Columbus South High in June, 1966. He immediately entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served four years (1966-1970) during the Vietnam War. On February 18, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Julie (Keefer) Rogers and enjoyed "50 Years of Love". They shared their love with their son, Christopher Glenn Rogers (Jayna); and daughter, Steffanie Marie Schaffer (Ben). His two adoring granddaughters, Kaylie Schaffer, 4 and Olivia Schaffer, 2, believe that "Grandpo is up in Heaven with God, Jesus and baby Moses, and Daisy and Sidney." PoPo will be looking down on Baby Franklin Lewis Rogers, soon to be born. Glenn is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen L. Keefer (Wilbur, deceased); and sister-in-law, Gloria (Curtis, deceased) Young of Pikeville, Ky.; and cousins, Sandy (Bobby) Urban and Adele (Tom) Marshall. He will be sadly missed by numerous cousins from both the Rogers and Ludwig/Keefer families and also lifelong friends, Cheryl and David Schmitt. Special Love to his nieces, Jennifer Belu (great-nephew, Ian Davis) and Jessica (Scott) Grant and nephew, Jeremy (Deana) Rogers and their families. Glenn was a long time member of Livingston U. M. Church and enjoyed doing many projects for his church family. He retired from Dick Masheter Ford as a Master Auto Mechanic. He spent his retirement enjoying his yard work and golfing with Julie and the Leventhal gang at Foxfire Golf Club. Much thanks to our Schmidt "family" for their love and support during these last two difficult weeks. The family appreciates all the loving care Glenn received from the doctors and nurses at Mt. Carmel West ICCU. Family and friends may gather from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High Street, where service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. James Donnan and Rev. Patty Iddings affiliating. Cremation arrangements will be made by O.R. WOODYARD. In lieu of floral arrangements, potted plants can be given for Glenn's garden. Visit www.orwoodyard.com to share condolences.
