Glover L. Shearron Sr., age 83, peacefully passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017. He was born in Omaha, NE on December 3, 1934. Glover served for 20 yrs active duty in the US Air Force as a Chaplain Services Superintendent and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired in 3/1972 at which time he began working for Bank One (Chase Bank) as the Corporate Line Manager for 5 departments within the Credit Card Division. Three years later he assumed responsibility for Staffing and College Recruiting, a sub-division of the Human Resources Division. Glover was quickly promoted to Officer where he designed and managed the Employee Relations function for the corporation and headed up the Workforce Diversity program for the Eastern Region of Bank One. After 25 years of dedicated service, Glover retired from Bank One in 3/1997. In 4/1997 Glover and his wife founded Workforce Directions, Inc focused on bringing customized personnel services to small businesses. He thoroughly enjoyed working one-on-one with clients, assisting them with employee relations issues, training and management coaching. Glover voluntarily served on 18 different Boards during his lifetime and served as Chairman of the Franklin County ADAMH Board, the Goodwill Industries Board, the CALLVAC Board and the Community Housing Network Board. Additionally he served on the Mayor's Task Force to build organizations for Volunteers for Columbus. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Janet (Le Gette) Shearron; daughter, Heather Shearron; son, Glover (Sherry) Shearron Jr; daughter, Jacqueline Campbell; son, James (Nancy) Heiliger; daughter, Barrie (Scott) King; daughter, Leslie (Terry) Carroll; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his loving cousin, Carlotta Martin. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, 11 AM at Maple Grove United Methodist Church, 7 W Henderson Rd, Columbus, OH 43214. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Handbell Choir at Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Glover's honor (address shown above). Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
