Helen "Suzy" Stevens Obituary
Stevens, Helen "Suzy"
1945 - 2017
Helen J. "Suzy" Stevens, age 71, went home to be with her beloved Lord on August 8, 2017 after a four year long battle with cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Jane Johnson. Suzy is survived by her husband, George Stevens; sister, Joan Summit of Long Island, New York; nephews, Josh and Ian Summit of California; stepsons, David, Fred (Carol), and Tom (Ronda) Stevens; 5 step granddaughters; 5 step great grandchildren; and many friends.
Suzy was retired from Columbus Public Schools after 37 years of service, 35 years as a Guidance Counselor at Eastmoor Middle School. She was a graduate of Bishop Waterson High School and The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Her love for her husband, dogs and flower gardens provided her with many happy years.
As a parishioner of St. Brigid of Kildare Church and a devout Catholic, she had a strong relationship with her Savior. The family is especially appreciative of the prayers and support from Monsignor Hendricks, Fr. Morris and all the deacons, especially Deacon Paul Zemanek and the Prayer Shawl Group.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4-7PM and on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 AM at St. Brigid of Kildare Church. The Mass of the Resurrection at St. Brigid of Kildare Church, 7175 Avery Road, Dublin, Ohio will follow immediately at 10:30 AM Friday. A luncheon will be served after the mass in Hendricks Hall. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, Ohio 43137, following the luncheon. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL.
