Helga Muladore Obituary
Muladore Helga Muladore, 97, of Worthington, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 12, 1920 in Landsberg/Lech, Germany to Heinrich and Margarethe (Becker) Manns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband US Army Lt. Col. Robert W. Muladore of Powell (Ohio). She is survived by her sister, Ingrid Young who lives in northeast Ohio. Helga will be deeply missed by her children, Ingrid (John) Robechek, Eric (Anne) Muladore, Kerstin (Ronald) Noland, and Nils (Stacey) Muladore; her grandson, Logan (Li Li) Muladore; two step-granddaughters, Lisa and Cara (Donald); and three step-great grandchildren. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved rescue dog, Ralphy. Helga grew up and graduated secondary school in Schleusingen, Germany. She worked as a translator for the American Military Government in Regensburg, Germany, following World War II where she met and married Robert. She immigrated to the US in 1947 and became a US citizen. While living in Delaware (Ohio) she worked as an assistant for the German Department of Ohio Wesleyan University and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Education at age 49. After Robert's death in 1973 she moved to Worthington where she lived for the past 41 years. She worked for Columbus Public Schools for 18 years as a German and English teacher at Northland High School where she positively influenced many students and was a beloved faculty member and mentor before retiring in 1988. She enjoyed traveling internationally and to the Rocky Mountains, reading, discussing politics, gardening, cooking, and especially spending time with her family, friends, neighbors and dogs. In addition to German and English, Helga also spoke Russian, French and Spanish. She liked keeping up with the latest technology and regularly used Skype, Facetime and e-mail to stay in touch with family and friends around the world until her passing. No public services will be held at this time.
