Homer Edward Beachy, age 99, of Plain City, died peacefully Thursday evening, September 7, 2017. He was born December 30, 1917 in Plain City, Ohio. Homer was a member of the Shiloh Mennonite Church. He retired from Ranco Controls of Plain City after 23 years of service and worked along with his wife and son at the Dutch Kitchen Bakery for many years. Homer loved to spend time outdoors and at the Plain City Library. Homer is survived by children, Kevin Beachy, Denise (Larry) Hostetler and Myrna (Fred) Rogers; six grandchildren, Kelsey (Bret) Thomas, Tyler Hostetler, Logan (Erin Watton) Hostetler, McKenna Hostetler, Will Rogers and Kelly Rogers; one great-grandson, Bryce Allen Thomas; siblings, Walter (Mary Jane) Beachy, Lovina Hostetler and Inez Miller; sisters-in-law, Lovina Beachy, Anna Beachy and Ada Beachy. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph "Joe" and Alma (Miller) Beachy, loving and devoted wife of 54 years Mary "Lena" (Yoder) Beachy, siblings Eli Beachy, Noah Beachy, Lawrence Beachy, Joseph Beachy, Sue (Ralph) Yutzy, Laura Beachy, Emma (Joe) Detweiler and Alma (Daniel) Gingerich, brothers-in-law Lester Hostetler and Abe Miller. Visitation will be held Monday 6-8 p.m. at Shiloh Mennonite Church, 7521 Woods West Ave., London, Ohio, where funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, with Pastor Preston Yoder and Homer's brother Pastor Walter Beachy officiating. Burial in Shiloh Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Loving Care Hospice of Madison County, PO Box 445, London, OH 43140.
