BROWN Hugh Ned Brown, age 92, of Grove City, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. He was born in Oakwood, Ohio on July 18, 1919 to the late Harold and Elsie (Prowant) Brown. Hugh graduated from the University of Cedarville with a Bachelor of Science Degree and served in the United States Navy during WWII. After his military service he worked as the head of the Sports Public Relations Department at the University of Dayton. Hugh went on to have a very successful career in fundraising. His fundraising documents are a part of a large university library. He also worked as the Editor of the American Hospital Association Magazine and as a high school teacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lois Baldwin and brother-in-law Charles Baldwin. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marcella Brown; son, Dr. David Brown; and nephews, Charles, Jerry, and John Tobin and Tom Baldwin. Hugh was a longtime member of the Grove City United Methodist Church. He was an avid sportsman and loved music. Friends may call on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
