Obituary Condolences

Kimes Ida Mae Kimes, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 with her loving family at her bedside. Born in Columbus, Ohio on July 12, 1921, daughter of Lee and May (Tanner) Parsons. A graduate of Central High School (1939). Married the late Melvin M. Kimes on December 6, 1942. Moving to Johnstown in 1959 lead to many lifelong friendships and an active member of the community. Member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church for 58 years where she was the Sunday school secretary and teacher, member of Lydia Circle and United Methodist Women. Lifelong member of the Central Committee Member of the Democratic Party. Her love of history and community lead to many years as president of the Johnstown Historical Society and President Emeritus. She attended every home football game of her beloved Johnnies. She was Johnstown's Senior Citizen of the Year and Grand Marshall of the Fireman Parade. Survived by daughter, Ramona (Michael) Sifford; son, Gary (Amy); 11 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Rosemary); nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son Mel, daughter-in-law Linda and granddaughter Tammy. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at the Johnstown United Methodist Church, 159 S. Main Street, Johnstown, Ohio. Interment at Green Hill Cemetery. Arrangements handled by CROUSE-KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME. The Family requests, in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution be made to Johnstown United Methodist Church. Our beloved family matriarch shared her love to all and will forever live in our hearts.
