Horsley Ishmael Mansfield Horsley, 78 years, passed away peacefully while being cared for by Inpatient Hospice at Mt. Carmel east Hospital, on July 7, 2017. He was born November 12, 1938, to the late Willard and Ora Green Horsley, and was raised in Lewis County, KY. He retired from Western Electric/ATT in 1996. Ishmael devoted his life to serving the Lord through song evangelism; most of his adult life was spent traveling and singing with his family. He was rarely found without a song on his lips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lillian Eileen Horsley, brother Norman Horsley and sisters Mary Thurman, Alice Hicks, Alma Chaffin, Olive Smith, Evelyn Horsley, and Helen Bloomfield. Ishmael is survived by his loving wife of the past 7 years, Katy Maple Horsley; brother, Harvey (Charlotte) Horsley; sons, Jeff (Marcia) Horsley, John (Shannon) Horsley, Mike (Lori) Maple; and grandchildren, Jessica Miller, Caleb Horsley, Jacob Horsley, Reese Horsley, Riley Horsley, Emily Reinhart, and Olivia Maple. Ishmael will be missed by the Myriad family and friends who have all played an integral part of his life. Family will receive friends on Monday from 5-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 South High Street. Dr. Daniel Tipton and Rev. Wilma Erwin officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
